About Tanner:                           We adopted Tanner in September 2001 from the Humane Society Adoption Center.  He was 10 months old when adopted but acted very mature and had a sweet disposition.  He instantly fell into our routine of 5:30 am runs and weekends at Lake D'Arbonne.  When we were faced with a family member becoming a resident of a retirement home, the thought of Tanner visiting made the adjustment period seem more tolerable.  He did so well on these visits that he soon found himself in obedience classes at OVDTC and officially certified in TDI pet therapy.  Tanner continues to visit his family member at the retirement home but now extends his visits to other residents.  You can also find Tanner visiting local libraries showing children of all ages the joy of reading and working with them to improve their reading skills.
