Our local animal shelters are overrun with stray and unwanted animals. One way that we are able to assist them is through our Animal Shelter Rescue Program.
How does this program work?
We are able to pull animals from the animal shelter that might not otherwise get adopted due to health issues such as heartworms or due to their particular breed. Did you know that the most common dog entering shelters is the Labrador Retriever? And they are also the least adopted. We take these animals and work with rescue groups all over the country where they are taken in and placed in pre-screened adoptive homes. These animals are given a second chance at life through this program!
HOW YOU CAN HELP...
FOSTER - We can't do it without your help! We need volunteers to act as foster homes for these animals until they can get to the rescue group. This can be anywhere from 1 week to several months. The joy of knowing that you have helped a homeless animal on it’s journey to a forever home makes it all worthwhile!
TRANSPORT - We also need people to volunteer their time and gas to help drive the rescued animal to the rescue group. This usually involves a 2 hour drive to Shreveport, Jackson or another surrounding city.
By working together we can save many lives! Please consider becoming a foster home for one of our rescued pets or by volunteering for one of our rescue transports!
