Please help PAWS of Northeast Louisiana as we embark upon our 7th Annual Sponsor-A-Spay Campaign! In 2012, thanks to the generosity of our Sponsor-A-Spay Angels and other donations and grants, we were able to spay and neuter 671 pets belonging to low-income pet owners in Northeast Louisiana at little or no cost to the pet owner! With your help, we CAN make a difference and continue to save the lives of thousands of future puppies and kittens that have no chance of surviving! What better gift can we give the animals of our community than educating the general public and reducing the number of dogs and cats who suffer on the streets needlessly or end up in the animal shelters?

Did you know that:
7,508 dogs and cats were brought in to the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter (OPAS) in 2012?
Over 5,300 of these pets were euthanized because there are not enough homes for these poor unwanted animals?

PAWS and OPAS are working desperately to rescue and adopt as many pets as possible. Through these efforts, we have seen a small improvement in the number of animals euthanized each year since 2008 .but the numbers are still unacceptable!

The ONLY way to stop this cycle is by spaying and neutering the pets of our community. This simple surgery can make a tremendous difference to these owners and their pets.

We anticipate that the new PAWS of NELA Spay-Neuter Services (PAWS SNS) facility will be opening soon in Monroe, LA. This will be a low-cost, high quality, spay and neuter surgical center that will be available to the general public. Even though our dream of this spay and neuter center is coming true, we must still fund the original PAWS Spay/Neuter Assistance Program for low-income pet owners! PAWS will continue to work with those low-income residents by providing vouchers to pay for the surgery at the new SNS facility or their preferred veterinarian.

Unfortunately, PAWS is losing one of its largest spay/neuter grants this year. Therefore, we will need your help even more and hope you will join us in our battle to end the epidemic of pet overpopulation in Northeast Louisiana. Just click on the "Spay/Neuter Assistance Program" tab, then click on "Make a Donation" on the right side. You will be listed on our web site as a 2013 Sponsor-A-Spay Angel to show our appreciation. PAWS of NE Louisiana, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your donations are tax deductible. Thank you for helping us help the animals!
