PAWS Pet Therapy has lost a valued member this month. Mr. Spot was the companion of our former Volunteer Coordinator & Outstanding Volunteer Claudia Long. Claudia rescued Mr. Spot from OPAS in 1999 when he was 6 months old. He was extremely, severely, and almost pathologically shy & timid but after many suggestions of taking him to obedience class, it started a long road to therapy certification. Mr. Spot turned into an outgoing, people loving & pet friendly part of the PAWS therapy team. Mr. Spot has listened to many children read & put a smile on many faces with his & Claudia's visits. Mr. Spot will be truly missed & his & Claudia's devotion to PAWS Pet Therapy & Humane Education will forever live on in the lives that they have touched. Thank you Claudia for sharing Mr. Spot with us & so many other people & thank you Mr. Spot to teaching us the many reasons to adopt a shelter dog.
